Kim Dremstrup, Head of Department and President of The Danish Society for Biomedical Engineering was interviewed by psychology professor Svend Brinkmann. The interview takes a starting point in how modern technology affects human beings. What are the consequences of new technologies? The interview focuses on views seen from both a health technology perspective and from a humanistic and psychological perspective. Does technology make us superhumans? Does it make us feel healthier? Or will it in fact call attention to the opposite and make us feel more pain? Different aspects ranging from self-tracking devices to tongue-controlled devices that fit inside the user’s mouth and make it possible to control a wheelchair are discussed.
